BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on the 19th of February, 1970, [1]) was an American actor, producer, and singer best recognized for her role as Melody "Mellie", Grant on ABC's drama show Scandal (2012)-2018. In 2014, Critics' Choice Television awarded her the best Supporting Actress award in a Drama Series. In 2019, she appeared in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young's acting journey began with the theatre. In 1997, Young made her Broadway debut as Mary in the initial cast of The Life. The Off-Broadway roles include in Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Rock Along (1994) and in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). 3][10] She made her debut on TV in 1995, with the character The Dr. Courtney Evans, in her role as a frequent guest on the NBC soap series Another World. She appeared on Law & Order in 1997 as well as 1998 in two characters. Her film debut was in 1999 as an important role in the Black and White's crime drama. In the following years, she starred in other independent films. Her first guest appearances on range of dramas on TV and comedy shows in the late 2000s. These comprised The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young was featured in more than 30 appearances on TV shows from 2000 to 2011.
